OHIP 신청하기

Permanent Full-time으로 일을 하는 Work Permit holder도 OHIP을 신청할 수 있다는 사실을 알게되었다.

근무를 시작하고, 시간 날 때 Service Ontario 에 바로 예약을 해서 OHIP을 신청하러 갔다. 

아래 service ontario 홈페이지를 들어가면 필요한 서류를 확인할 수 있다.

Appointment을 신청하고 가는 게 정말 빠르게 처리할 수 있기 때문에,

OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) 

온타리오에서 Health care service 를 이용할 때 꼭 필요한 보험인 OHIP! 

예전과 다르게 full-time employment 를 갖고 있는 work permit holder도 신청할 수 있다. 

 

OHIP이 커버하는 Medical Services 

• appointments with your family doctor 
• visits to walk-in clinics and some other healthcare providers 일반 병원, 클리닉 방문
• visits to an emergency room 응급실 
• medical tests and surgeries 의료 테스트

OHIP 신청할 수 있는 자격 

• be physically in Ontario for 153 days in any 12 months 온타리오에 12개월 중 153일 거주
• make Ontario your primary residence 온타리오가 주 주소일 경우 
• are in Ontario on a valid work permit and are working full-time in Ontario, for an Ontario employer, for at least 6 months (Work permit 을 갖고 있고, 온타리오에서 Full time 으로 근무하고 있는 경우) 

OHIP 신청할 때 필요한 서류 

• OHIP 신청 서류 (미리 웹사이트에서 다운받아서 작성) Registration for Ontario Health Insurance Coverage form

• Work Permit 원본
• Proof of residency 주소가 나온 서류 (예시: 계약서) 
• Proof of identity 여권 
• Employment letter that proves you are a full-time worker. 풀타임이 증명되는 재직증명서

필요한 서류들을 들고 Service Ontario를 방문하면, 서류 확인하고 바로 임시 OHIP서류를 발급해준다.

실제 카드는 2-4주 정도 걸린다고 한다.
